TeeOff ClubThe short version. We collect what we need to keep your scorecard, show your leaderboard to the people in your round and improve the app. We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and you can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
1. Who we are
TeeOff Club (“TeeOff Club”, “we”, “us”) makes the TeeOff Club app, a golf scorecard for iPhone, and runs this website. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app or the website, how we use it and the choices you have.
For the purposes of Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 and other data protection laws that apply to you, TeeOff Club is the data controller of the personal information described here.
2. What we collect
If you use the app without signing in
You can score rounds without an account. Those rounds, and any range sessions, are stored on your phone and are not sent to us. We still collect basic usage information, described below under “How you use the app”.
Your account
When you sign in with Apple, Apple shares your name and email address with us. You can choose to hide your email, in which case Apple gives us a private relay address that forwards to you. We use this to create and secure your account.
Your profile
- Your display name
- Your handicap index
- Your home club
- A profile photo, if you choose to add one from your photo library. We only receive the photo you pick, not the rest of your library.
Your rounds and activity
- The course, date and time of each round, the number of holes, and the scores entered for each hole
- The players in the round, including guests the host adds by name and handicap
- Competitions and Stableford events you create or join
- The clubs you save as favourites
- Whether you choose to broadcast a round to your club
If you add a guest to your round, you are giving us their name and handicap. Please only add people who are happy for you to do so.
Your location
If you allow it, the app uses your phone's location to show the golf courses closest to you. You can turn this off at any time in your phone's settings. The rest of the app works without it.
Feedback and support
If you send feedback in the app or email us, we receive what you write along with any contact details you give us, such as your name, email address and phone number, so that we can reply.
How you use the app
We collect information about how the app is used, such as which screens are opened, which buttons are tapped, when the app is opened and closed, and basic device information like your phone model, operating system and app version. If you are signed in, this is linked to your account so we can understand how the app is used over time. We use it to find bugs and decide what to improve. We do not use it for advertising.
This website
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and to keep the site running. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it delivers them.
3. How we use it

We may also use information where we need to comply with the law, prevent misuse of the app, or protect the safety of our users.
4. What other people can see
- Other TeeOff Club users can find you by name so they can add you to a round. Your search result shows your display name, profile photo, handicap and home club.
- Players in your round can see everyone's names, handicaps and scores for that round, and the round appears in their history.
- Members of your home club can see a round if you turn on “Broadcast to club” for it. This is off unless you turn it on.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers. We share it only with:
- Service providers who run parts of the service for us and may only use the information to do so:
- Supabase, which hosts our database, sign-in and photo storage
- PostHog, which we use to understand how the app is used
- Apple, which provides Sign in with Apple and Apple Health
- Other users, as described in “What other people can see”.
- Authorities, if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or TeeOff Club.
- A new owner, if TeeOff Club is ever sold or merged. We would tell you before your information became subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Apple Health
If you allow it, TeeOff Club saves your driving range sessions to Apple Health as golf workouts. We only use Apple Health for this. Information from Apple Health is never used for advertising or marketing, is never sold, and is never shared with anyone else. You can change or remove TeeOff Club's access at any time in the Health app.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account information, profile and rounds for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account:
- Your account, profile, photo, rounds, competitions and favourite clubs are deleted.
- If you played in someone else's round, your scores stay on their card so their round still adds up, but they are no longer linked to your name or account.
- Any feedback you sent is kept to help us improve the app, but your name, email address and phone number are removed from it.
Usage information is kept for a limited period and then deleted or made anonymous. We may keep some information for longer where the law requires it.
8. Your choices and rights
- Update your details in the Profile tab at any time.
- Delete your account by opening the Profile tab and tapping Delete Account. You can also clear your round history from the same screen.
- Turn off location or Apple Health in your phone's settings.
- Keep rounds private by leaving “Broadcast to club” off.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected, to object to or limit how we use it, or to receive it in a format you can take elsewhere. To do any of these, email us at willardshikami@gmail.com. We will reply within the time the law requires. If you are in Kenya and are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
9. Security
Your information is sent to us over encrypted connections, and the app stores your sign-in details in your phone's secure storage. Access to our database is limited so that each person can only reach their own information and the rounds they are part of. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you where the law requires it.
10. Where your data is stored
Our service providers may store and process information outside Kenya, including in the United States and the European Union. Where we transfer information abroad, we rely on providers that offer appropriate protections for it, as required by law.
11. Children
TeeOff Club is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will change the date at the top when we do, and if the changes are significant we will tell you in the app before they take effect.
